Katherine spent eleven days at the One Of A Kind Show in Toronto in 2019 and connected with a fellow vendor. The vendor’s daughter went to work on a farm in Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Québec, and posted a picture of this scene. Katherine painted her own impression of it and focussed on the shadows in the snow, keeping the lake light and detached in the background, and the tree line exaggerated. This piece would feel very dark if it weren’t for the light shining through to the tree in the middle, and reminder that there’s always a glimmer of hope.

Framed in 'Michelangelo' espresso-coloured 2" wood frame.
