In August of 2022, Katherine had to make one of the hardest decisions to date, which was to put her precious dog Meeko down. Left feeling uninspired and unable to paint, she set off to Temagami, Ontario to a canoeing camp she’s the medical director for. She went with the mindset to fine reassurance that there is beauty ahead and paid attention to the location, its night skies, and many lakes surrounding her. Thus, in September of 2022, the series ‘Comfort of Home’ was born. This series helped her to heal and is special for that reason.
